Through its Directorate General for Global Cooperation and Development (DG DEVCO), the European Commission contributes somewhat to particular initiatives and tasks, such as UNFPA materials, the UNFPA-UNICEF Joint Programme in the Abandonment of Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting, the UNICEF-UNFPA Global Programme to Accelerate Action to End Child wedding, the worldwide Programme to avoid Son choice and Gender-biased Intercourse Selection, also to UNFPA nation programmes in every areas.
